When I try to install MyStars I get this message:
"Couldn't install c:\Program Files\MyStars32-27\uninst\fidan.dll"
then the message
"Couldn't install uninstaller"
and the installation fails.
What is wrong? And how can I repair it?

Hi.

Is your system 64bit?

We have many users running MyStars! on machines configured for Danish.
I have not seen this before, but it is trying to install the Danish version of the uninstaller.

Is your system XP, or Vista or Win7? If so please let me know, and I can give you some special instructions to try.

But if your operating system is XP, Then Im somewhat stumped. These steps aren't usually necessary, so Im not sure why it would have an issue on XP, but I would then try the following:
- Delete the folder MyStars32-27 which is in your Program files folder
- Switch your system to English temporarily through the control panel
- try installing again
- Switch back to Danish after install

My operating system is Win 7 - and there is no folder MyStars32-27 in my Program Files folder. The installation simply stops with the error message.
A couple of years ago I had MyStars installed. Can there be some left-overs from a previous installation?

The problem is actually the installer, which is not necessarily compatible with Win7. This is similar but not identical to installing on 64bit (see the other issue in this forum), and I'll put further instructions here shortly.

Yes, you are right! I followed the instructions for installation on 64-bit and it worked!

I am bring up my 64-bit system.
I see from the prior post that a step-by-step was offered/supplied.
I did not see any such in this topic.
Do I need to check another topic in the forum??

I have just downloaded the Myst3227.exe.
When I attempt to install the program a red X appears on the icon in the task bar and a box appears which shows 2 bars.
one, the RAM, is designated as 70% the other, CPU, as 90%.

I have 28GB of free space on my C drive.

Does anyone know what is the problem?

ETA I am 68 and need to have things explained simply.
Thanks

Are you installing on Windows 7?
If so, there is a link to instructions right above this post you made.
If not, then please tell me the steps you took.
Thanks

I have Windows Vista.
The program just would not install after displaying what I have outlined in the previous post.
It just would not do anything so there didn't seem to be any steps to take.

My screen went white except for a rectangular box with the 2 upright bars.

For Vista, you probably have to install it according to the instructions above for Windows 7.
